JSA Architects, L.L.C. 1997 - Present
A Salt Lake City native and graduate of the University of Utah, Corey joined JSA Architects early in his career after becoming interested in learning more about the residential architecture design process. He quickly found a passion for the intimate and detailed process in completing projects for clients that respect and enhance their unique lifestyle and the way they live in and around their environment.
The process of architecture has always been a passion for Corey. As an architect, Corey believes that architecture not only begins when the architect sits alone creating the first drawings or models for a building, but when the client has a dream. Only when the client decides to give form and permanence to their dream, does the architect’s work really start. The architect, in turn, interprets the dream, uses drawings and models to develop and push the vision beyond its initial preconceived limits, and guides the client and other lead individuals, all gifted in their abilities, to create a cohesive architectural expression.
This architectural expression in turn, should be strong to its natural born convictions. A strong design idea and well managed process will resonate throughout the building and site in a natural and elegant way. The building will unlock the clients dream, engage and enhance the site, respect the budget, respect the environment, and in the end will deliberately and indirectly create a vitality all its own.
As a principal of JSA Architects, Corey is responsible for not only the management of several architectural projects, but is also the chief financial officer of JSA Architects as he manages the financial responsibilities of the firm.
Corey is a member of the American Institute of Architects, the AIA Young Architects Forum, and NCARB, and outside of the office enjoys painting, building furniture, the outdoors, and the company of his wife and three children.
